Manchester Demographics

Manchester operates under a council/manager form of government. The Town's Board of Directors (town council) consists of nine elected officials and serves as the legislative and policy making body for the town. The Board of Directors appoints the General Manager, who in turn is the town's chief operating officer responsible for the day-to-day operations of the town. The General Manager supervises all town administrative staff and departments.

Manchester's elected Board of Directors, and appointed Economic Development Commission and Planning and Zoning Commission are part of a policy team.  We believe that economic development is part of a complete community, and that we can achieve a diverse economic base that is a valuable and integral part of our town's fabric.  We share a common goal to attract new businesses, support existing businesses, and revitalize business areas that need to adjust to new market realities.
