Since adopting the Broad Street Redevelopment Plan in 2009, the Manchester Redevelopment Agency has been working to implement the Plan's vision for a revitalized, vibrant, mixed-use district along the Broad Street corridor.

On May 7, 2012, local officials and residents gathered to celebrate the start of demolition work on the Broad Street Parkade. The buildings will be gone by the end of June, making way for the type of mixed-use district called for in the Broad Street Redevelopment Plan.

The Agency and Planning and Zoning Commission are engaged in the process of creating new zoning regulations for the Broad Street Redevelopment Area. |

This is a $5 million partnership between the State and the Town will reconstruct Broad Street between Center Street and West Middle Turnpike. The project will include a uniform street width, sidewalks, reduced curb cuts, landscaping, decorative crosswalks, stamped concrete and pedestrian lighting designed to give Broad Street a unique look and provide the core for future redevelopment. Construction will begin spring 2012. |
