Backpack & School Supplies Collection:
We have received many calls from families in need of school supplies for the 2012/13 school year. This year, the Manchester Human Services Division will be accepting donations of school supplies at the Weiss Center, 479 Main Street, between July 9th and August 13th. Donations will be collected at the Human Services Office on the 1st floor or at Senior, Adult & Family Services on the Ground Floor. To our knowledge, no other organization is collecting and distributing school supplies. Supplies will be distributed to families in need.
To qualify, families must be receiving or be eligible for reduced school lunches for their children and reside in Manchester. Please contact the Human Services Department prior to August 13th.
We will be collecting NEW items only for children ages 5-17. Some suggestions include: BACKPACKS - Various sizes needed, biggest demand for the LARGER Sizes, USB Flash Drives, Trapper Keepers / 3 Ring Binders. Pens, Pencils / Pencil Cases, Erasers, Eraser Caps, Colored Pencils, Crayons, Magic Markers, Lined Paper, Spiral bound notebooks - single / 3 to 5 subject, Pocket Folders, Scissors, Rulers, Calculators.
