Change your clock - change your battery - March 14, 2010
As Daylight Savings Time approaches on Sunday, March 14th, the Fire Department is
reminding residents to make another change that could save lives: changing the batteries in
home smoke alarms. Changing smoke alarm batteries at least once a year is one of the
simplest, most effective ways to reduce tragic deaths and injuries. The simple yet powerful act
of changing the batteries in smoke alarms when clocks are changed on March 14th can cut a
family’s risk of dying in a home fire significantly.
