July 31, 2007: Patching utility cuts

Beginning Tuesday, July 31, 2007, Folsom Construction Co. of South Windsor, will be working on various roads throughout Town patching utility cuts in the road.  The Contractor will be on Tolland Turnpike for a number of patches.  Work will be ongoing for the month of August.    During construction, temporary lane closures may result in traffic delays.  Please use caution when traveling through work zones and obey all speed limits.   For more information regarding this project, please contact David Slossar, Construction Inspector in the Engineering Division at 647-3155.

July 30, 2007: Buckland Street Milling and Paving

Beginning Monday, July 30, 2007, work on the Buckland Street Pavement Rehabilitation project will begin.  During the week of July 30, 2007, work hours will be from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Beginning on or about August 6, 2007 and through the completion of the project, milling and paving work will be performed at night.  Work hours will be from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am.  Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late September.

July 19, 2007: Road construction and paving

The Town of Manchester will be conducting road construction and paving beginning Thursday, July 19, 2007.  Commuters and local traffic will experience road closures, delays and detours.  The streets that will be affected are: Woodland Street, Lydall Street, Greenwood Drive, and Keeney Street. 

Road milling is scheduled for Woodland Street, between Hilliard Street and Broad Street, on Thursday and Friday.  The milling operation will then continue to Lydall Street, Greenwood Drive, and Keeney Street in that order.  Delays are expected.  Seek alternate routes if possible.  Please use caution when driving through the construction zone. 

The work is expected to continue through the end of August.  The Town appreciates your patience and cooperation as we strive to improve our roads.
