NOTICE: Public Informational Meeting

The Town of Manchester will hold a public informational meeting for State Project No. 76-H041, the
proposed reconstruction of North Main Street between Stock Place and North Street, on Thursday, November
20, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hearing Room (1st Floor) at Lincoln Center, 494 Main Street, Manchester, CT.
The proposed improvements include reconstructing the pavement section to a uniform width,
replacement of sidewalks, installation of new storm drainage and the installation of a new traffic signal at the
North Main Street/Union Street intersection. Based on the preliminary assessment, the project construction
cost is approximately $3,900,000.

It is expected that the construction phase of this project will be funded under the Surface Transportation
Program - a Federal, State and local cooperative effort to improve roadway safety in urban areas.
The tentative schedules for the design and construction of this project will be discussed at the public
informational meeting.

Written statements and exhibits in place of, or in addition to, oral statements made at the meeting may
be submitted either at the public informational meeting or delivered to Mr. Mark Carlino, P.E., Director of Public
Works, Town of Manchester Engineering Division, PO Box 191, Manchester, CT 06045-0191, on or before
December 1, 2008. Such written statements or exhibits must be reproducible in black and white, and on paper
not to exceed 8 1/2" x 11" in size. These written statements or exhibits will be made part of the project record
and will be considered in the same way as oral statements.

The Town's engineering staff will be available at the meeting to answer questions anyone may have regarding the
project plans being presented.
All persons interested in this project are welcome to attend the public informational meeting.
Deaf and hearing impaired persons wishing to attend this informational meeting and requiring an interpreter
may make arrangements by contacting the Town of Manchester Engineering Division at (860) 647-3158 at
least five working days prior to the meeting.
