Road Race closures 2009

Main St. will be closed to traffic between Bissell St. and Maple St. from 5:00 am until 7:00 am to allow the construction crews to erect the fencing and ropes along the roadway.

At 7:00 am Main St. will be closed from Center St. to Charter Oak St. until the conclusion of the race.

At 9:15 am the entire race route will be closed to vehicular traffic.

After the tail car of the race passes, roads will be opened up behind it.
However, Main St. will continued to stay closed from Center St. to Charter Oak St until race clean up is completed around 1:00 pm.

BUS SHUTTLES: The FREE shuttle service transports runners and spectators to and from the race. The shuttle includes three pick up locations and drop off areas a few blocks from the starting line. People can park at the Commuter parking lot in Bolton (adjacent to the old Manchester Drive In) and State of Connecticut Social Services Department parking lot (699 East Middle Turnpike) or at Manchester Community College, lot C. Buses will transport people near intersection of Main and Center Streets for drop off and pickup. Bus pick up BEFORE the race at the above lots from 7:45am to 9:15am. Bus pick up AFTER the race from Main & Center from 11:00am to 12:30pm.
