Applications for the Senior Homeowner’s Program, and Additional Veteran’s Program must be filed by May 13, 2011, in order for qualifying seniors to receive their property tax credits. To qualify, taxpayers must be over age 65 by December 2010, or be Social Security disabled. Taxpayers must own a home and must provide documentation listing their 2010 income to the Assessor’s Office with a completed application. The maximum income for qualifying seniors (or disabled) taxpayers for this year is $32,300 for unmarried, and $39,500 for married. Senior Taxpayer Programs: Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 1:00 PM, there will be a presentation at the Manchester Senior Center at 549 East Middle Turnpike. Director of Assessment & Collection John Rainaldi will review the tax assistance programs available to Manchester's senior citizens. This will include information on the Senior Homeowner's Program, the HELP Program, Veteran's programs, and various other programs that are offered to qualifying seniors.
