Closings for 10-30-12: Manchester Public Schools, Senior Center.

All Parks and Recreation Department facilities and programs are closed for Tuesday, October 30, 2012.

Trash & Recycling collection are on the regular schedule. The Landfill is now open for both RESIDENTS and Commercial business.

Voter Registration has been extended to 8pm on Nov. 1, 2012.

A regional emergency shelter is open UNTIL 12 NOON TUES. OCT. 30 at the Vernon Center Middle School, 777 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon, CT. 860-872-9126.

Residents can also assist the Town by clearing storm drains of leaves or debris to prevent street flooding and are encouraged to do so. Town shelters will become available to residents if needed after the storm’s impact is assessed. Residents can obtain storm update information on the Town’s emergency broadcast radio station located at 1630 on the AM dial.

Residents are encouraged to sign up with CTAlert or update your profile. This is a reliable way for residents to receive information regarding emergency notifications.
