Weeklong Tag sale at the History Center, June 5 to June 12 at 175 Pine Street, to benefit the Manchester Historical Society. Hours: Friday, June 4 Preview from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. $5.00 admission • Saturday, June 5 through Saturday, June 12 - 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. every day. Bike Rodeo - At the Elks Club, Bissell Street. Registration begins at 9:00 am and the rodeo will take place from 10:00 until 1:00 or 2:00 pm depending on the turnout. The committee will provide ice cream cups donated by Shady Glen for this event.

12th Annual Family History Day, 9 am-1 pm at the Town Clerk's Office, Town Hall, 41 Center Street. Discover the joys of family research. Come learn the latest in conducting a search about genealogy and even your own family history. K-9 Kerplunk Doggie Dunk, There will be three doggie dunk swim sessions: Session one from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.; session two from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m.; session three from 1 to 2 p.m. Space is limited for each session. Pre-registration is required for this event by calling the Recreation Department at 860-647-3084. Donation of $5 per dog requested. The doggie dunk takes place at Globe Hollow, 100 Spring Street. Free history walk at Buckland Cemetery at 5:30 p.m. Ruth Shapleigh-Brown, Executive Director of the Connecticut Gravestone Network, will lead this one-hour walk with commentary about the gravestones and cemetery. Rain or shine. Participants should drive into the cemetery toward the left back and park carefully along the narrow road. * 10:00 am - 3 pm South Manchester History Hunt - a free and fun self-guided "hunt" for architectural and landmark features of the South Manchester area. History Hunt forms and details will be available at Cheney Hall between 10 am and 3 pm.

* 10:30 am - 11:30 am "Magic of Christina", presented by the 'professional magician' Christina Monahan in the Howroyd Room of the Mary Cheney Library, 586 Main St.

36th Anniversary New England Fiddle Contest 10 am-6 pm in Center Park.
Bring your blankets and chairs and get ready to meet friends old and new
at this annual 'rite of spring' for the fiddle world. Watch and listen
to New England's best fiddlers from age 5 to 85 compete for cash prizes
and trophies. Enjoy traditional toe-tapping fiddle music of the judged competition and jam sessions throughout the day. CT's Bristol Old Tyme Fiddlers Club will provide intermission entertainment. "Luv My Pet" Day, 12:00 noon - 4:00 p.m. at the firehouse at 75 Center Street. Dog licensing, rabies vaccinations and other routine shots will be available. All pet owners are encouraged to license their pet that day. Dogs must be on a leash and all cats must be brought in carriers. This event is open to the general public and not exclusive to Manchester residents. Invite a friend to come along, Manchester has the third highest number of dog owners in the State of Connecticut.
