Who May Vote By Absentee Ballot

         Any qualified registered voter unable to vote due to the following reasons:

• illness or physical disability

• absence from town during all election hours

• religious beliefs forbidding secular activity on election day

• serving as an election official at a polling place other than your own

• active service in the Armed Forces

How To Apply

Applications for Absentee Ballots can be obtained from the Town Clerk, the Registrar of Voters, Democratic and Republican Party Headquarters, or at the Secretary of the State's website.( www.sots.ct.gov )

Any qualified voter already out of town may have an application mailed to them.  However, you MUST allow sufficient time for mailing and returning the application AND the ballot.

VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT HAS PRIVACY PROTECTIONS SIMILAR TO VOTING BY MACHINE.
YOUR NAME WILL  NOT BE CONNECTED TO YOUR VOTE WHEN IT IS TALLIED!

Please call the Town Clerk's Office for information regarding deadlines for voting by Absentee Ballot and for emergency use of Absentee Ballots at 647-3037.   For information regarding registering to vote, please call the Registrar of Voters at 647-3025.
