Passports

The Town Clerk's Office has been designated as a Passport Acceptance Agency by the U.S. Passport Agency, which means that we are authorized to accept and process the applications, before forwarding them to the Passport Agency for issuance of passports. 

U.S. passports are only issued to U.S. citizens or nationals.  Each person must personally appear in the Town Clerk's office to apply for his or her own passport. * Children under sixteen must be accompanied by both parents.

Passport Hours are : Mon - Fri, 8:30 A.M. - 4:15 P.M.

1. Complete application but do not sign; must be signed in the presence of the Passport Acceptance Agent at the office of the Town Clerk.
    

2. Certified Birth certificate with raised seal, Naturalization Papers (birth certificate must be from town where you were born, not from hospital, and not Record of Birth).  Long forms mandatory for all applicants.
    

3. Two passport pictures - 2" X 2" identical, official passport photos only. Passport photo service is now available in our office. The cost of the photo's are $10.00.

4. Passport fees.  Separate check or money order for each passport. The Town Clerk's office does not accept credit cards.
   
   $75.00 check or money order (no cash) for ages 16 and older payable to "U.S. Dept of State"
   
   $25.00 debit card, cash or check made payable to "Manchester Town Clerk's Office"
   
   Total Due:  $100.00
                      - OR -
   $60.00 check or money order (no cash) for children under 16 years of age  made payable to "U.S. Dept of State"
   
   $25.00 debit card, cash or check made payable to "Manchester Town Clerk"
   
   Total Due:  $85.00

5. Passport cards are also available for an additional fee. Please visit travel.state.gov for additional information.

6. Expediting available for an extra $60.00 per application, check or money order (no cash) made payable to "U.S. dept of state".  Passports will be mailed to you within 7-14 working days.
    

7. Driver's License or other form of State or Government issued photo Identification (work badges, and check cashing cards are not acceptable).
    

*FOR CHILDREN UNDER 16 YEARS OF AGE - Children and both parents need to be present.  Parents need to sign application in front of Clerk.  Both parents must provide proper identification.

Children 16 years of age and older -  must sign their own application and one parent must be present with their identification.

PASSPORTS ARE MAILED DIRECTLY TO APPLICANT WITHIN 5 TO 8 WEEKS FROM APPLICATION DATE, DEPENDING ON SEASON.  ONCE THE APPLICATION LEAVES THE OFFICE OF THE TOWN CLERK THERE IS NOTHING THAT THE TOWN CLERK CAN DO TO EXPEDITE THE APPLICATIONS.  IF THERE ARE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING THE STATUS OF AN APPLICATION, YOU SHOULD CALL: 1-900-225-5674.
