Meet The Town Clerk

Joseph V. Camposeo has been the Town Clerk of Manchester since 1996. Prior to being elected and appointed Town Clerk, Joseph served as both a member and the secretary for the Board of Directors from 1991-1996, and as a member of the Board of Education from 1978-1988.
In addition to his current position of Town Clerk, Joe is also President of the Connecticut Town Clerks Association. Prior to becoming President, Joe served as Chairman of the Legislative Committee as well as the association’s first Vice President.
Joe is a member of the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, New England Association of City and Town Clerks, the National Property Recorders and Property Records Industry Associations. In his tenure as Town Clerk, he has been named to various committees for technology, education, elections and historic preservation.
Joe has been a member of the Manchester Rotary,UNICO, and the Army/Navy Club, as well as past President of the Manchester Sports Hall of Fame and past President of the Manchester Scholarship Foundation. Joe is a Certified Connecticut Clerk, and a CMC (Certified Municipal Clerk), has recently been accepted into the IIMC Master Clerk Academy. He has a BA in Political Science and History from Bellarmine College - Louisville, Kentucky. He has also attended various business and professional courses at the Hartford Graduate Center, the University of Hartford, the American Management Association, Manchester Community College, and the University of Louisville.
Prior to his position of Town Clerk, Joseph V. Camposeo also held the positions of Assistant Vice President at the Savings Bank of Manchester, Purchasing Agent and Systems Management Consultant at the Travelers Corporation, and Research Analyst at the State of Connecticut, Department of Welfare.
Having lived most of his life in Manchester, Joe is a graduate of Manchester High School, and attended both Washington Elementary, and Barnard (now Bennet) Middle School. Joe likes golfing, playing softball, gardening, and spending time with his wife Kathy
(formerly Katherine Swiatek of Meriden, and a teacher at St. James School), and their son Tony.
